Despite an admission rate of less than 4%, there is great diversity among the students from different educational establishments: University of Paris-Dauphine, University of Paris 2 Panthéon-Assas, University of Paris-Nanterre, University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, University of Rennes 1, University of Toulouse-I-Capitole, University of Nantes, as well as preparatory classes and business schools (HEC, ESSEC, EM Lyon, etc.)


Application procedures

I. Application via the e-candidate portal :

(1) Applications are made exclusively online via the e-candidate portal, usually from the beginning of May.

(2) An assignment on a compulsory subject must be attached to the application file.

II. If your application is selected, you will be contacted in June for two interviews:

(1) The first one with the directors of the Master (Pr. Sophie Schiller and Pr. Antoine Louvaris).

(2) The second with two to three former students of the Master.


Essay for the year 2022-2023

Candidates for the Master 214 for the year 2021-2022 had to write a dissertation on the following topic: :

"The distribution of stock exchange litigation between the judicial and administrative jurisdictions: what are the advantages and disadvantages?"


The essay is 5 pages long, in Times New Roman font, size 12, line spacing 1.5.

The written work must have a cover page and be typed. All sources used in the written work (including the Internet) must be cited in the body of the text and in the bibliography. It is reminded that misuse of the internet is prohibited.

The application must be submitted on the online application platform.

  • What are the application procedures for Master 214?

Applications open on May 10, 2022 on the Dauphine application platform. You must then put together your electronic file by submitting the requested documents (generally your CV, your cover letter, your transcripts, some administrative documents and a written work).

After studying your application, if you are eligible, you will receive an invitation to an oral interview with the directors of the Master's program, as well as with former students.

  • What are the requirements to enter the Master 214?

Although the Master 214 is in principle aimed at students with a Master I in Business Law, coming from other backgrounds is not a handicap! Each year, the Master is composed in a heterogeneous way by students from Dauphine, other universities, Parisian or not, and business schools.

You have every chance, there are no bad profiles, only good candidates. It's up to you!

Academic results play an important role in the pre-selection process, but it is above all on your personality and motivation during interviews that you will be admitted or not (read the article "Master 2: the keys to a successful application for a master's degree in law").

  • Is it difficult to find an internship when I join this program?

The completion of a minimum three-month internship starting on April is necessary for the validation of the degree. It is essential to start canvassing firms and companies in the summer of your admission in order to put all the chances on your side.

Privileged channels have been set up with the Master's partners and thus make it possible to place a certain number of students quickly.

  • Are the results of the second semester taken into account in the study of the application file?

The second semester transcripts of the Master’s degree Year 1 are not part of the compulsory documents to be submitted in your electronic application file as they are generally not published at the closing date of the application. However, if you already have them and they are favourable to you, there is nothing to prevent you from adding them as an additional document, or bringing them with you on the day of the interviews.

  • Is the Master 214 compatible with taking the Bar Exam at the beginning of the year?

The Master 214 does not prevent you from taking the Bar Exam. The Master 2 courses start the week after the Bar exam. The first semester is generally less dense than the second in terms of courses, which offers more freedom to prepare for the oral hearings . In practice, each year many students of the Master take and pass theBar Exam.
